I understand that participation in the robotics program over the course of the 2007-2008 school year will be very demanding. I realize that students are expected to attend weekly meetings that may be after school or late in the evening to accommodate mentor schedules. During the new competition season, beginning of January to the end of February, the meetings will be almost every night and most weekends. This phase lasts approximately 6.5 weeks. Students may be using power tools after training and under adult supervision. The are also required to wear safety glasses at all times in the build rooms.

I also realize that students are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the East Campus for these meetings.

Finally, I am aware that the team teachers, engineers, and students will be traveling to three local minor competitions (Saturday matches), the first of which is on November 10 (Ramp Riot). The team will also attend at least two major regional competitions at Rutgers University in New Jersey in early March and Drexel University in Philadelphia from the 27 to the 29 of March. Students may be absent from school up to four days for these, and make up work is their responsibility. As we get close to each competition, more information and directions will be sent to you via email, and permission slips will need to be signed for each.
